First edition of Expowood was set up in Odorheiu Secuiesc in 1999. Gathering an experience of 9 years, Expowood developed significantly, so that the last editions were hosted in Braşov. By 2006 Expowood became a well-known event, the new pole of wood industry events. The large number of visitors and experts from the previous edition confirmed the importance and excellence of the event.

The profile of last editions compared with the begining years has improved a lot, given the various domains of wood exploitation and processing industry, sylviculture and furniture industry.

The fair enjoys the support of the Wood Industry Faculty, the Forestry Faculty and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Braşov.
